Allie Standifer

Allie Standifer - Part Two of my E.C. Author Tell All

If you have ready any of Allie's books, her Facebook postings, or her blogs on Three Wicked Writers Plus Two, you might think the whole princess and sparkle bit she puts on is exactly that - a bit. As someone who considers Allie as one of her best friends, I can tell you Allie truly does think she's a princess and anything shiny that catches her eye will distract and entertain her for hours. This is the real Allie. I adore her for it and am glad to be one of her minions.

Things you may not know about Allie. She truly is terrified of frogs. She squirts sugar-free vanilla syrup in every diet Coke she drinks - EVERY. She carries a small plastic bottle of the stuff with her everywhere. Allie has to have at least two cups of coffee in her before she's capable of speaking coherently. She is NOT a morning person. She's one of the funniest people I know, though she honestly doesn't' think she's being funny. She's got a wicked tongue and tends to blurt out anything and everything that enters her mind. She's a died-in-the-wool American who loves, loves, loves and supports her soldiers.

Things to know if you see Allie at Romanticon. She likes to drink chocolate wine and lemon drop martinis, preferably in a glass that's been bedazzled. Mention her Poseidon or Club Botticelli books, and she'll grant you an audience. Promise to be one of her palace guards, minions, or ladies in waiting, and she'll really warm up to you. Bring her something sparkly, and she's putty in your hands.

That's my Allie for you. Now I wouldn't normally do this, but I just found out about a great review for my story, His At Last. If you have a second, check it out. http://www.mizlovelovesbooks.com/2011/09/his-at-last-by-brenna-zinn-review-2.html
Thanks for reading.

House Party - kicking it with my writer girl friends

What's more fun that a barrel full of monkeys on crack? A house full of romance writers drinking chocolate wine.
This week some amazing writers (Desiree Holt, Regina Carlysle, Allie Standifer, Nicole Austin, and I) came together for what will forever be known as "The Dr. Suess Porn Event" to work, create, share, and just have an all around good time. On the giggle meter, I'd say the last few days rated an 8.75 on a scale of 1 to 10. Poor Regina has laughed so hard, she's lost her voice. Desiree is just now recovering from the "shipping cream vodka" (otherwise known as whipped cream vodka) situation from last night. (I'm not lying here. You can check out Regina's Facebook page and see Desiree's post for yourself.)
As I write this post on my laptop, which is competing for space with the laptops of the other ladies on Regina's kitchen table, I can't help but wonder how the hell I managed to get in with these fantastic ladies. Good karma? Good hygiene? A decent ability to write, plus the skill to mix strong drinks? Who knows? I'm just damned glad I'm here, soaking in everything I can, and enjoying the love and attention of Regina's teacup Yorky (who seems to think my lap is a good place to sleep and my arms are absolutely delicious and need to be constantly licked.)
Color me happy.
P.S. - A very special thanks to Nic for creating my new e-mail banners. I LOVE them.
Now where's my drink?

December Contest

There's a great chance you're reading this blog because of the Rose's Colored Glasses December posts. If so, fantastic. Then you probably already know the Roses are offering contests throughout the month of December.

My contest couldn't be any more simple. All you need to do is join my mailing list from my website www.brennazinn.com. That's it. Really. At the end of December I'll randomly draw from the wonderful folks who joined the mailing list. The person whose name I draw will win a $20 gift certificate from Barnes and Nobles.

Can't beat free stuff!

Also, my latest book, Christmas Goes Camo, also written with Desiree Holt and Allie Standifer drops December 20th from Total E-Bound. Pick up a copy, keep tabs on my blog, and find out about January's contest. It will be delicious!
