What's more fun that a barrel full of monkeys on crack? A house full of romance writers drinking chocolate wine.
This week some amazing writers (Desiree Holt, Regina Carlysle, Allie Standifer, Nicole Austin, and I) came together for what will forever be known as "The Dr. Suess Porn Event" to work, create, share, and just have an all around good time. On the giggle meter, I'd say the last few days rated an 8.75 on a scale of 1 to 10. Poor Regina has laughed so hard, she's lost her voice. Desiree is just now recovering from the "shipping cream vodka" (otherwise known as whipped cream vodka) situation from last night. (I'm not lying here. As I write this post on my laptop, which is competing for space with the laptops of the other ladies on Regina's kitchen table, I can't help but wonder how the hell I managed to get in with these fantastic ladies. Good karma? Good hygiene? A decent ability to write, plus the skill to mix strong drinks? Who knows? I'm just damned glad I'm here, soaking in everything I can, and enjoying the love and attention of Regina's teacup Yorky (who seems to think my lap is a good place to sleep and my arms are absolutely delicious and need to be constantly licked.)
Color me happy.
